Biography

Francesco Bigi received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Mechatronic Engineering from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Modena, Italy, in 2022 and 2025, respectively.

In 2023, he was awarded the Franco Lombardini Prize by the Rotary Club of Reggio Emilia, recognizing the most outstanding student in Mechatronic Engineering.

He is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree in Robotics with the School of Industrial Innovation Engineering at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.

His research interests include safety-aware and optimal control strategies for efficient human–robot collaboration, with a primary focus on robot-assisted minimally invasive surgery (TRAMIS).
